With the aim to provide social security to the marginal workers having meager income the department has formulated this scheme to provide financial support on contributory basis. Marginal workers include Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Labourer, Rural Barber, Craftsman, Blacksmith, Shepherd, Masons, Weavers etc. 

The application forms are available with DSWO/TSWO free of cost. The applicant has to complete the application form and enclose proof regarding age, income, status and address. Complete case is to be submitted to the concerned Tehsil Social Welfare officer against proper receipt. The concerned Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO) consolidates the list of eligible applicants under the scheme and forwards it to the concerned District Social Welfare Officer for arrangement of funds and accord of sanction by a designated District level Sanctioning Committee headed by Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District.

A contribution of Rs.300/- by the state and Rs.200/- by the beneficiary is made on quarterly basis for a period of five years to ten years into the joint account opened for the purpose.
